PEST CONTROL TIPS ... the Flea !

  1. WHAT MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOUR HOME IS TREATED FOR FLEAS?
    1. A licensed veterinarian or groomer must treat pets for fleas.
    2. Pets, house and yard must be treated at the same time. Pet must be at groomers/veterinarian while house is being treated.
    3. Mop all concrete and vinyl floors.
    4. Vacuum all rugs, carpets, furniture, and under cushions. Dispose of vacuum bag and leave vacuum to be treated.
    5. Clean all pet bedding. Fish bowls and aquariums must be removed or properly covered. Cover or empty all fishponds or wading pools in yard.
    6. Floors, including closet floors, under beds, and furniture, should be cleared of all objects so all areas can be treated.
    7. Linens need to be taken off premise and washed.
    8. Grass must be cut to a reasonable height.
      1. WHAT WILL OUR PEST CONTROL TECHNICIAN DO IN YOUR HOME?

A light insecticide spray will be applied to all infested and potentially infested areas.

      2. WILL FLEAS DIE IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT?
      3. Nearly all adult fleas will be controlled by the time you return home. Don’t be alarmed if you see some fleas for up to 20 days following application. These are newly hatched fleas that will be controlled by the residual effect of the insecticide.

      4. HOW SOON CAN THE CARPETS BE VACUUMED AFTER APPLICATION?
      5. Normal vacuuming may be resumed the day after your home is treated.

      6. HOW DO I KEEP FLEAS FROM RETURNING?
          1. Regular vacuuming and cleaning will help reduce populations.
          2. Replace your vacuum cleaner bag regularly.
          3. Routinely have pets treated for fleas.
        1. WILL THE SPRAY ALWAYS HAVE AN ODOR?
        2. Many of the new insecticides will have very little, if any odor. These materials have been specifically designed for indoor use and this has no affect on their ability to control fleas.
